What is the meaning of Parent Server Generation in /server-status??

Hi all,



What does "Parent Server Generation" means?? And how can I increase that ??

Coz I seems apache is faster if this number is higher.

Correlation != causation.

I believe this number refers to the number of times you have
gracefully restarted apache (and therefore launched a new parent
server). It shouldn't have any effect on performance.
