Looking at http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers you find

simba-cs 1543/tcp simba-cs
simba-cs 1543/udp simba-cs
# Betsy Alexander +1 604-681-4549

Doing a google search on most of this crap just turns up a bunch of useless
me-too lists of portnumbers, and no details. The name "Betsy Alexander"
is supposed to be the contact, and the +1 604-681-4549 is a phone number
in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Doing a google search on that turns up

Moving Pictures - Canadian Films on Tour
Canada's Travelling Film Festival
Tel: (604) 681-4549
Toll Free: 1-877-858-3456
Fax: (604) 669-7173
email -> movingpictures@telus.net
websitea -> www.movingpictures.nisa.com

which is pretty useless too. Looking historically, port 1543 is not
listed in RFC1700 (Assigned Numbers - October 1994) and five older lists
that I have.

So, the real question is "why are you interested in port 1543?"
Remember that ports between 1024 and 49151 are "Registered Ports", and
all that means is that someone reported to IANA "Hey, we're using this
port number - can we have it named for our application?". It does not
mean that anyone else can't use it. Actually, ports numbers in that
range are NORMALLY used by 'user' applications. Oh, and don't forget to
tell us what operating system you are using.
