MySQL 4.0.24 + kernel 2.6.11 compile problems

hi,

MySQL 4.0.x is still _NOT_ possible to compile on 2.6.x kernels=20
(version 4.0.24 of MySQL):

In file included from /usr/include/asm/atomic.h:6,
from ../include/my_global.h:287,
from manager.c:20:
/usr/include/asm/processor.h:92: `CONFIG_NR_CPUS' undeclared here=20
(not in a func
/usr/include/asm/processor.h:102: `CONFIG_NR_CPUS' undeclared here=20

make[2]: *** [manager.lo] Error 1
make[2]: *** [libmysql.lo] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2

I wonder how is this possible cos this bug was already found in MySQL=20
5.0.x (http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=3D7970) and I already reported=20
it also affects MySQL 4.0.x (http://lists.mysql.com/bugs/15554).. Can=20
someone tell me when it will be finally possible to compile MySQL on=20
2.6.x kernels _without_ problems ? :( I'm really wasteing lots of my=20
time because of this..

Hi!

Sorry for a late answer.
This not fixed yet not because we don't want to fix it, but we are
unsure how :(

Refraining from using atomic operations is an option we'd like to avoid
if possible.

Hopefully, we'll find a solution next week.
