Publish all pages vs. Publish selected files

Publish all pages vs. Publish selected files

am 16.05.2005 17:49:20 von Support

I'm posting this here because I for some reason get the
Message "newsgroup unavailable" in all other front page
groups.

When I publish my site (company Intranet behind a
firewall) if I select Publish "all" then all files are
published and pages work well. However if I just select a
directory FrontPage misses or ignores all supporting files
(jpg, gif, etc). This is a fresh installation of FrontPage
2002 on a freshly loaded Windows 2000 professional Server
with the 2002 ext installed. Everything has been patched
and updated temp files dumped. I can use windows explorer
and see the files but when using front page it does not
list some directories in the tree view. But they are there
in explorer. I have used Front page 2000 for years and
have had no issues like this one. Any help or Ideas would
be greatly appreciated.

If you publish selected files, then only those files that are selected
will be published, the supporting files will only go if they are also
selected.
Publish all pages, or publish changed pages, will publish pages with
any new supporting files.

Some folders (those starting with an underline, example _borders) are
hidden in FrontPage unless you use Tools->Web Settings - Advanced tab,
and tick the box "Show hidden files and folders". Note that the
_derived folder(s) will *always* be hidden in FrontPage.
