#1: IIS6, Win2003 Server and WebDAV

Posted on 2005-07-19 21:10:06 by TC

Hi all,
I've been looking around for some solid help on this topic but have yet to
find a clear cut way to do it. My problem is a simple one. At least I think
it is. I have a website that a team of developers will be using as a
development area. It's not a production site but a common place for the team
to work on the same site. I've read a lot of negative stuff about FTP and
decided against trying to set that up for the team. WebDAV seems to be the
way to go. I finally found the right set of things to allow the team to do
work on the website using WebDAV. However, when I try to setup a virtual
folder that points to the website for viewing purposes I keep getting a login
prompt that won't authenticate according to the virtual folder I setup. Can
anyone direct me to a good article on how to properly configure a webdav
folder for editing and how to setup a website that points to that folder for
viewing of posted changes?
Thanks
Tom
