FrontPage 5.0 Event ID 1000

FrontPage 5.0 Event ID 1000

am 27.07.2005 23:19:08 von Jody

Server Configuration: Windows 2003 / IIS 6.0 / FPSE 2002

I keep getting the following event logged multiple times every hour on the
hour and it is filling up my logs. This is a relatively new development and
can not specifically attribute it to anything in particular. I have verified
all my websites home directory settings are correct and all the websites are
up and running just fine. I have not been able to locate much information
about this specific error “#3005f” that I can make any sense out of and would
appreciate some assistance.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: FrontPage 5.0
Event ID: 1000
Description: Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions: Error #3005f Message:
Unable to read configuration for Microsoft Internet Information Server.

Hi Tom - I have tired the KP article and the procedures there are for IIS 4 &
5 and the place the say to make changes does not seem to exist in IIS 6.0
which is what I have. I have looked all throught the IIS manager tabs and can
not locate those options.

As for the EventID.net article I have seen that also but am not sure if what
is says is to recreate the physical directory for the website itself copy the
data there and repoint IIS to that Home Directory or if they are just talking
about recreating the IIS folder.

The thing about that is this is a recent problem and I am not convinced that
ALL my 25+ sites need to be processed in this way. Since the Event warnig
does not specify a particular website, I would have to re-create the wwwroot
directory for all sites which would require that I re-publish each all sites
beccause this procedure would mess up all the FPSE features that will need to
be re-applied.

Any suggestions?

Thanks - Jody
