hello, i've tried to configure libmysqlclient-3.23.56 and had this =
error:

configure: error: No number was found in ./charsets/Index for the latin1 =
character set. This is a bug in the MySQL distribution. Please report =
this message to bugs@lists.mysql.com.

after, i've tried to install =
MySQL-client-standard-4.1.18-0.rhel3.i386.rpm and =
MySQL-server-standard-4.1.18-0.rhel3.i386.rpm but i had:

file /usr/bin/mysql from install of MySQL-client-standard-4.1.18-0.rhel3 =
conflicts with file from package mysql-3.23.58-1

[root@serverlinux davide]# rpm -i =
MySQL-server-standard-4.1.18-0.rhel3.i386.rpm
warning: MySQL-server-standard-4.1.18-0.rhel3.i386.rpm: V3 DSA =
signature: NOKEY, key ID 5072e1f5
error: Failed dependencies:
MySQL conflicts with mysql-3.23.58-1

please help me

Please, use newer version, 3.23.58. If it also has this problem, send
configure command line you used.

Please, send

rpm -q -a | grep -i mysql

results. You may have to uninstall 3.23.58 and install 4.1.18 instead.
