Newbie Question: Printing regular text sideways?

Newbie Question: Printing regular text sideways?

Is there a way to print English text sideways?

What I've tried: creating a mailing list layout... but when I choose text
orientation -- sideways -- it says Asian text only. (bummer)

I'd rather not have to go outside Filemaker to Word, but I suppose that's
possible...

Why I'm asking: it's a little complicated to describe with words: we want to
print badges on Avery Forms (5388), which are 3x5 cards oriented landscape,
but we want the final tags to hang in portrait orientation. (We have
vertical oriented artwork.) To make it work, we need to print names &
barcode sideways on the card.

Take a look in the help module for rotating text.

Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you simply change the Page
Set-up to have a Portrait layout??

Assuming there's some reason that doesn't work, you can rotate any
object on the layout by 90 degrees by this process in Layout Mode ...

1. Click on the objext (it can be a field, a text block,
a line, etc.) using the Arrow Tool.

2. Choose 'Rotate' from the 'Arrange' menu and the object
will rotate by 90 degrees.

3. Repeating step 2 and cause the object to rotate another
90 degrees.

BUT,
some printers don't like objects being rotated and they print quite
badly.

Another option would be to have one Layout in Landscape to print some
items, and another Layout in Portrait to print the rest. Then you can
do two print jobs, putting paper back through for the second time.

This was what did it for me! (I actually did find it mention to rotating
somewhere, and then figured it out.)

Thanks to everyone!
