While you are using VML text-boxes you cannot centre the page, unless
every single visitor to your site is using Internet Explorer - probably
10% or more will be using other browsers.

why text-boxes should be avoided, and look at
http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/VML-graphics-OK.htm in FireFox as
well as in IE.
While viewing these pages change the browser window size, and change the
text size using View->Text Size in the browser menus to see the results.
