Default file type

Default file type

I am replaceing my old apache instalation with a new one, the latest
which came with slackware 12. I have two issues which I hope someone
can help with.

1) On my old install, it could type a URL like http://www.domainname.com/directory/funds
and apache would find a file named funds.html in the directory. On
the new instalation I need to actualy type http://www.domainname.com/directory/funds.html
to get the file.

2) This one is not so important. The manual (I copied the old manual
files which may be a problem) are all language type files
(index.html.en). I have set the DefaultLanguage setting to en, and
enabled the extras/httpd-languages file. Any access to index.html
does not find index.html.en. If I type index.html.en the file does
load. This isn't a big deal, as I dont use language files anywhere, I
would just like to know what is different.

Thanks for the help, Les
