BIND 9.2.0

BIND 9.2.0

am 22.01.2003 08:01:24 von Mohammed Khalid Ansari

Hi I am using BIND 9.2.0 on RedHat7.2. I observed that after running for
some time named just stops answering queries while remains active as
daemon. When I restarts it works fine but after sometime again the same
problem. I had just formatted the disk, installed RedHat7.2. Earlier it
was working fine.

Anyone has any idea or similar kind of exp. please guide me.

with regards...

Some output from your named debugging log might help a bit,
use the debugging feature that come with it. In my experience I solve
the problem like yours, after inspecting the debugging logs, and found
out named logs file grows too big and stop working,
somehow I forgot to rotate it automatically :)

.... ciao:

according to isc , the resolver library for bind 9.2.0 is
'considered' experimental, and is not a direct replacement for the 8.x
library.

do you have any logs available.

finally, there is a 'bind' maillist. you might take a look on the
'isc.org' website ...
