How to configure PostgreSQL in PHP

Hello, I am new in PostgreSQL. Do I have to configure anything so that
PostgreSQL can run from PHP? If I need to configure something, can
somebody can tell me how to do it or send me a website which explains

Do you want Pgsql running on windows too...not sure if there pgsql can
run on windows by itself (maybe under cygwin).
