DBD::mysql installation problem help me

Hello Everybody,

When I tried to install DBD I got no error and when I
try to connect to DB through perl I am getting this
kind of error,I have gone through pod and tried to do
setup staticly but I could n't succeed I know the
problem is with libmysqlclient.so I have not found
this file in my system but libmysqlclient.a is found
Can any one please give me the full intructions how to
set up the this or else any site which describes in
detail on this
the error is
Can't load
'/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/i686-linux/auto/DBD/my sql/mysql.so'
for module DBD::mysql:
/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/i686-linux/auto/DBD/mys ql/mysql.so:
undefined symbol: compress at
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/DynaLoader.pm
line 229.

This sounds like a missing libgz-devel, libz-devel, or whatever your
distribution calls that RPM.
