Forking in kernel
am 22.11.2004 08:23:49 von Jagadeesh Bhaskar P
Hi,
How can I fork a new process at the kernel level, say, as in a module?
When compiling a module with a fork() function inside it,
it will get complied as gcc -o ... -c ... -D__KERNEL__
But it says unresolved symbol fork() during insmod-ing. Is there a
kernel level compliment for fork and clone, like printk for printf??
Please do help!!

I read that the init process is the first actual process to run, and it
spawns all other processes even including the shell. So I wanted to
explore the same aspect, and study what happens in such a case, like,
zombie process and all!!
So is that possible to be done
