AW: MySQL error 1267

Hi Andrej,

we had the same problems after migrating to 4.1.7. An immediate =
solution was
to change the collation/connection charset in phpmyadmin main page to
latin1_swedish_ci. This works for us.=20

Yes, i agree. Interesting would be, where this originates from.

Hello experts,

I am using last version of phpMyAdmin to query into database.

But,
entering ANY SQL query, except of those, which do not have any field
names, I get the same ERROR:

#1267 - Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and
(utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=3D'

It worked until doing 2 things:
- I upgraded from MySQL 4.0.17 to 4.1.17
- I upgraded to last phpMyAdmin

The only weird thing I notice is the new column in phpMyAdmin named
"Collation" and it is set for all text fields to "latin1_swedish_ci".
I don't have idea where it came from.

Any idea what is wrong here?
