bug reporting system

bug reporting system

am 15.12.2002 22:17:35 von Georg Richter

Hi all,

Handlings bugs via a mailing list is very painful - painful for MySQL AB
people and for reporters:

It's hard and really annying to determine if a bug is fixed, in which version
its fixed, if its bogus, duplicate etc.

As we all know your todo-lists are full - you all made a very good job
developing an excellent product.

During the christmas Jocelyn and I have some spare time, and we'd like to
offer you to build a bug reporting system (similiar to bugs.php.net).

Regards

Georg (also speaking for Jocelyn)

Georg, Jocelyn,

A very nice offer, thank you. :)

However, we are already in the process of installing this very same bug
tracking system. Jim Winstead (from PHP Group) is our lead webmaster guru
for MySQL AB, and has already been working on setting this up for us.

Right now our partially setup system is for internal use only. We are
planning to turn it public when Jim has some spare cycles (hopefully
Dec/Jan). Jim's time has been at a premium lately with the redesign of
MySQL.com.

If you'd like, you could contact Jim Winstead directly to
ask if there is anything you could do to help him.

Thank you for the offer!

Matt
