Apache 2.0.52 and Frontpage version 5.0

Apache 2.0.52 and Frontpage version 5.0

I had an Apache 1.3.27 server running with Fronpage extextions version 4.0
installed and running. I just recently upgraged the server to 2.0.52 and the
extensions to 5.0. Now when I try to connect to the website using frontpage
I get an error that says "unknown server type "apache 2.0" error. Is there a
patch that I can install or has anyone had to overcome this problem before?

I just did some more checking and found that the installation of the server
extensions failed. It says that the version of Apache is too new for the
versions of server extensions that I am trying to install. It says something
about only supporting a patched version. Can anyone help with this problem?
The older version that I had installed on the older version of the server
doesn't work because the directory structure and the httpd.conf file of the
new server are different and the script fails.

You might check at RTR at http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/index.asp
- believe they are responsible for non-windows FP SE (at least on Unix)

As well as RTR, these links were helpful to me

http://www.johnspencer.info/LinuxTutorials/Red_Hat_FPSE/FPSE 2002onRedHat9.html
except I had to correct this line-
LoadModule frontpage_module modules/mod_frontpage.so
to the correct path.

http://www.newwebsite.com/mandrake.html

Also I wasted weeks trying to connect with FrontPage 98 client, has to be
2000 or newer.
Outcome was even better, I tailored a bash script which creates new user,
adds virtual to DNS, adds FP extensions, mysql user, and restarts all the
servers.
