How to do a cluster

How to do a cluster

am 09.09.2003 21:06:11 von Duniesqui Rodriguez

Hi,

I'm using RedHat Linux. I have several version.

I want to build a cluster. But, I don't know what are the packages that I
should install. I like to know how to configure the cluster and how to
develop application to perform on it. I heard some about mpi but, ... I
don't know it.

A simple one (to install) would be a MOSIX cluster (http://www.mosix.org).

IBM had a good article/tuturial on it:

http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/edu/l-dw-linuxmo six-i.html

Just thought that'd be a good starting place.

Openmosix: http://www.openmosix.org

Automatic load-balancing, working with applications without
shared memory. Applications with shared memory will not migrate,
but the cpu load will be optimal, by migration of the other
apps.

To develop apps, no use shared memory, and make various forks!

It has configured RPM packages:

Mosix now is a non-free cluster.
openMosix is a free, open-source!
