sendmail virtusertable

i just set up a new mailserver. it hosts two domains, and the users are
separate and should NOT receive mail destined for the other domain.
so for example i have:
joe@place.com
sam@other.com
i do not want joe@other.com and sam@place.com to work.

so what ive done on my other mail servers is in virtusertable:
joe@place.com joe
@place.com error:nouser User Unknown

and this works, and it wont receive mail for sam@place.com.

but it doesnt work on my new mail server. mail is accepted on any
domain.
any suggestions?

did you build virtusertable.db after manipulating virtusertable?

no i didnt, cause im stupid. thanks for pointing it out, that was just
too obvious to notice. it works now, thanks.
