Fax Receiving

Hello all,

Does anyone have a favourite program, or combination of programs, for
receiving, viewing and printing Faxes in X. Preferably runs on an old
PII/400 in Ice or Gnome. It needs to be able to handle huge incoming faxes
too; 15 - 30 pages. Also, it's for an old "I'm a Truck Driver!" type so it
has to be brutally user friendly. ;)

i use 'mgetty+sendfax', and it works like a champ. of particular
interest to me, is its 'caller-id' reporting, and the facility to
allow/deny based on that information.

this runs on a 2.2.25 box, so i'm confident the hardware will not be
a problem.

one caveat however. the script that handles printing will need to be
tweaked a little. when a fax received, the first two characters of the
filename, define its resolution; ffandsoon.0x for fine, and fnandsoon.0x
for normal. the script fails to address this duality, and might require
some user intervention.

however, as life is sometimes good, a newer version might have fixed
that minor flaw ...

I've played around with that as well, works great for me, but it is
not user friendly for someone that is afraid of computers, and he
needs to be able to view it, prior to printing 30 page fax.

as a given, the intrepid trucker, would have to invoke startx.
having done that, starting 'faxview' seems to do everything you suggested
needs being done ...
