the first thing i'd do, is get rid of everything you do not need, in
order to determine what you have available. here, i use a 2.2.25 kernel
which handles IPCHAINS and blah, blah. i suspect the 2.4.x kernels might
be a little bloated given the hardware, and needs, you mention ...
