ODBC Bug???

ODBC Bug???

am 10.02.2005 06:24:59 von Paul Coldrey

Hi Folks,

Would it be considered a bug in the MySQL ODBC driver that M$ Project
can't use MySQL via ODBC as a backend. If I open a new Project file and
save it to an ODBC entity which contains an empty database then it
behaves as expected when the ODBC links to a MSSQL, Access or Oracle
backend. If the ODBC links to MySQL it says:

An unexpected error occurred.

The database could not be initialized because it is not configured
correctly, it does not support required functionality, or
it is not installed on your computer.

Contact you system administrator for the database.

I'm using MS Project 9.0.2001.0219 SR-1, MyODBC 3.51 (from
MyODBC-3.51.11-1-win.msi) on Windows XP SP2.

Cheers,

Paul.

I have tested 3.51.11-1 with Access 2003 without any problems, also I assume
that you did a fresh install of Connector/ODBC without any previous version
installed.
Anyway I ask you for to open a bug report at:

http://bugs.mysql.com

preferably with a test case or with more detailed description when using
Access (I don't have MSSQL and Oracle for test).

Thanks in advance.
