Distributions still shipping with malformed .cnf files.

Someone just posted this on the general list. The problem, of course,
is that the sample .cnf file is malformed due to the inclusion of
comments where comments are *illegal*.

Wasn't this going to be fixed? I know that people should edit
the sample files to suit their particular configuration, but surely
distributions shouldn't ship with .cnf files that illegal and *cannot*
be used out of the box?
