Mysql got signal 10 when connecting with JDBC client to official MySQL binary on HP-UX 11.11

am 28.02.2003 17:52:35 von lars-goran.forsberg

>Description:
When connecting to mysql-3.23.55-hp-hpux11.11-hppa2.0w from a java client
(through MySQL Connector/J 2.0.14 or 3.0.6) the mysql process is restarted
due to signal 10.
Connecting from the "mysql" client is no problem.

Connecting to mysql-3.23.55-hp-hpux10.20-hppa from the same java client
on the same machine seems to work correctly.

Since we are running HP-UX 11.11, we should run the 11.11 binary, right?
But why does it crash when connecting with the JDBC driver??

The machine is an HP rp2470 with 2*CPU and 2GB memory. We have tested on
several different HP-UX 11.11 machines, so it should not be a hardware
problem.

From the error log:
mysqld got signal 10;
This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.
We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help
diagnose
the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely
wrong
and this may fail

key_buffer_size=8388600
record_buffer=131072
sort_buffer=2097144
max_used_connections=0
max_connections=200
threads_connected=1
It is possible that mysqld could use up to
key_buffer_size + (record_buffer + sort_buffer)*max_connections = 443390 K
bytes of memory
Hope that's ok, if not, decrease some variables in the equation

030221 04:54:19 mysqld restarted

RE: Mysql got signal 10 when connecting with JDBC client to official MySQL binary on HP-UX 11.11

am 03.03.2003 11:04:46 von lars-goran.forsberg

Hello again and thanks for the quick response!

We are however running PA-RISC 2.0. See output below:

HP5:root> grep $(printf "0x%x" $(getconf _SC_CPU_VERSION))
/usr/include/sys/unistd.h
# define CPU_PA_RISC2_0 0x214 /* HP PA-RISC2.0 */

Any more ideas?

Regards,
Lars-Göran Forsberg

Judging by the signal type and the fact that 10.20 binary has no
problems, it could be caused by a difference in the patch level.

Please check that you are up to the lsat HP recommended patch level.=20=

Can you upload your Java program and tables in question to :

ftp://support.mysql.com:/pub/mysql/secret

and let us know a filename.

We shall try to reproduce a crash on HP-UX 11.
