mysqldump on Windows

mysqldump on Windows

I'm running mysqldump 8.21 on Win2k Server with MySQL 3.23.49-nt. Are
there any special considerations for running mysqldump on Windows vs.
other OS platforms?

I just found the -r option for mysqldump. This causes
newlines to be output to the result file as linefeeds only rather than
carriage-return/linefeed pairs. I'm not certain I understand the need for
this, as previous dumps that I've done without the -r option have been
used to restore some tables and they worked just fine.
