Command to describe optimum table definition

Command to describe optimum table definition

am 01.03.2005 16:09:15 von Matt Bernhardt

Hello all,
At some point in the past, I seem to recall being told about a console
command that would analyze a table's contents and recommend a table
definition to match? Not describe what the table -is- (I'm familiar with
DESC ), but what it could/should be.
I've looked through the MySQL site for indications of this command, and
reviewed the slides and certification guide briefly - but haven't found
anything. Am I missing something that's in plain sight, or was I
hallucinating when I thought I heard about this command?

Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Matt

I don't think there is such a thing for MySQL unless there is a
third-party tool. MS Access has the "Analyse" facility that does
something like this. Perhaps you were thinking of that.
