am 17.03.2005 14:45:10 von geoffers
Can anyone help me as when I e-mail a Chinese customer I get back the
following error message. I can e-mail them OK from Hotmail OR Yahoo??
"It appears that the DNS operator for jn.gov.cn
has installed an invalid MX record with an IP address
instead of a domain name on the right hand side".
Thanks

Strange post, considering your NNTP-Posting-Host IP:
no-dns-yet.demon.co.uk
Is the little spammer having problems getting his garbage into
people's mailboxes?
Isn't that just too bad?

This is a MIME GnuPG-signed message. If you see this text, it means that

Identify who in your organization, jn.gov.cn, is responsible for maintaining
your organization DNS servers. Advise your administration to have this
person fired for incompetence, and replaced by someone else who actually
knows how to properly configure DNS.
Your domain, jn.gov.cn, is not properly set up. Your Chinese customer's
mail server will refuse to accept mail from anyone who does not have their
DNS MX records correctly configured.

I bet 10,000 quatloos that Beavis does not know what is an MX record.
And a side wager of 1,000 quatloos that Beavis was just about to announce
that he did not read this post, because his amazing procmail filter replaced
everything in the subject line with 'X's, but now that I beat him to the
punch he will just go away quietly, licking his wounds after being spanked
once again.
