smtp server address

smtp server address

I'm running Fedora 3 and want to use mhmail thru cron to send messages
to myself when I'm away from my base. My evolution mailer works fine in
remote locations as long as I give it a suitable smtp server.

Unfortunately, mhmail via sendmail > smtp does not know what smtp
server to use and I can't find out where to stipulate it. It used to be
possible to flag that in sendmails configuration file but apparently no
longer. Any ideas appreciated.

Mhmail actually uses the post command to deliver mail. You can specify
which SMTP server to use in the mts.conf file (see mts.conf(5)). It's
in /etc/nmh/mts.conf on my system.
