Anybody able to search old instant messages for strings?
I can look at them in Yahoo Instant Messenger, but i need a search feature.
They are binary files so i can't just use a text editor.
Is there some tool out there that understands YIM's format?

Found out that Yahoo has a desktop search tool that can index YIM archives:

Also found out that archives ( at least in the non-corporate version ) are not so much
binary files as plain text obscured with a simple cipher. There are third-party tools
that can decrypt the archives, or you could write your own "yim2txt" utility.
