images/bandwidth in mechanize

Does anyone have a list of tips to minimize bandwidth when using
Mechanize? For example, it just popped into my head there may be a way
for mech to tell the server not to send images, similar to what i can do
with my browser settings.

Any advice appreciated! I use mechanize a ton and other than
compress,gzip headers, i dont really do much to reduce bandwidth returned
by the servers I hit, but I really need to!

The server only sends what Mech asks for. If you don't want images,
then don't ask for them.
