Search facility doesn"t work
am 27.04.2005 11:56:32 von Steve
I have frontpage server extensions installed on my Unix server and have
added a search webbot component to a page on my web using frontpage 2000,
which i have published to my server.
The problem is if I try to search on my online website a login box pops up.
None of my usernames or passwords work and I can't have this popping up for
visitors.
Can anyone help?
Steve

Steve,
Open the page in you client and check the properties. Also chech
permissions on the _vti_txt directory on the Unix server.

Does the _vti_txt directory have an .htaccess file that prevents the
user the web server is running as from accessing default.wti and the
All* files located therein?
Is the _vti_txt directory accessable to the user the web server is
running as?
Do you have a url where we can see the behavior your are describing?
