on my server te pop access is very slow when mailbox are big.
TRying in telnet xxx 110 I've seen it stucks for 15 seconds after
issuing the PASS command, so I guess when analyzing the mailbox file.
using ipop3d... any suggestion if possible to speed it up?

The pop server has to read the entire mbox file. Assuming you can't get
a faster server, your only choice is to delete or download enough
messages to get the incoming mail folder down to a managable size.

If you are the server manager, you may want to consider the use of the
much faster mbx mailbox format. Read the following document for more
