Does anyone know how to setup up desktop short cut to email message

Does anyone know of any email client programs with which one can
create a desktop shortcut to a received mail message.
Here is the situation. One family member gets an email message
and and wants to leave it where other family members can find
when they use the computer.
If it is a file or web page, you can make a shortcut and put it
on the desktop. Is there any equivalent for an email message?

Assuming (MS-)Windows: The default email client, Outlook Express, can
do this:
While displaying the message (in its own window, not in the preview
pane) do:
File -> Save as... -> click on the "Desktop" icon on the left -> Save
Now, that wasn't *too* hard, now was it? :-)

Of course the above solution assumes that the family members share the
same desktop (which is not neccessarily the case).

Besides the above method: In all email clients you can save a message
to a file, so you could always put a shortcut to that file on the
desktop. For example in OE you can save the message as a (default) .eml
file and put a shortcut to that file on the desktop. That is what the
above mentioned procedure does, with the advantage that you do not have
to browse around to find your desktop and do not have to think of a
filename.
