problem loading mysql

Hello, dennis here, a new user. When, from a command prompt in mysql server
4.1 folder i try to run. actually the bin folder under the former i get an
error 2003 hy000 cannot connect to mysql server on local host 10061. can
anyone tell me where to look for the solution and/or explanation. thanks

This error occurs because the mysqld is not running. Check to make sure that
the mysqld is installed as a service and that you can ping the server.
You can also look at your data/.err file to see why it's not
loading.
A little more info would help too, like OS/Distribution etc.

Is the server running in the first place? There are different reasons
for a connect error, one of them is that mysql isn't really running,
how to check if its running depends on your Windows version. Check
MySQL Manual at the "Installing MySQL on Windows" section and you
should be fine.
