Case-sensitive match with LIKE operator fails

Problem: Case-sensitive match with LIKE operator fails at the end
of data field when index is created on this field.

Version: MySQL 3.23.54, compiled from source, running on FreeBSD
4.2

Problem is demonstrated by the attached script.
