Hi,
=20
I installed MySQL 4.1 alpha because I need to make sub-selects in my
queries. This function seems to work perfectly.
=20
But, there is a big difference between MySQL 4.0 and MySQL 4.1. Requests
to the MySQL server slow down considerably.
Version 4.1 returns data about 4 or five times slower than version 4.0.
=20
I remark that this problem occurs only when my connection is on a
distinct computer on my Local Area Network.
If I install the version 4.1 on localhost with same databases, all seems
to work normally.
=20
=20
Thanks for you support

Are the connection machines (clients) running Windows? =20

There is a known-problem with the 4.1 protocol and Windows clients.=20
If you try to connect via a Linux, or any non-Windows based machine,=20
you should not find the problem. This is issue #485.

You can see that the queries are being performed just as quickly as =
4.0,=20
by connecting locally. =20

This problem is being addressed.

HI!

This list is dedicated to bug reports with fully repeatable test
cases.=20

Your report does not provide us with sufficient info on how to
reproduce and measure that.

So far we have only one such report, which we are investigating, and
it is concerning Windows to Windows communication.
