Netscape e-mail - abandoned?
Netscape e-mail - abandoned?
am 01.06.2005 15:25:42 von John Mowbray
Anyone know if NetScape has abandoned its e-mail client service? Over
the weekend, my NS 7.2 client stopped being able to login to my NS
account, although I can still get in through the Navigator. NS 8
doesn't seem to come with an e-mail client, and doesn't import the
e-mail settings of the 7.2 client software. This is bothersome.

This is a MIME GnuPG-signed message. If you see this text, it means that
your E-mail or Usenet software does not support MIME signed messages.

Upgrade to Mozilla Thunderbird.

Unfortunately, changing clients won't help if NS no longer allows
clients to connect - which seems to be the situation. That is, the
problem appears to be with the server at NetScape.

Fire them. Pull as much mail as you can out of your old account, and move
them to a plain, garden-variety POP3 or IMAP mail account.

Mozilla Thunderbird can't access Netscape Mail accounts.

A temporary glitch? I just checked my Netscape Mail account with the
Netscape 7.2 mail client. I only had one spam message, though.
