ssl support in mysqld

ssl support in mysqld

am 10.06.2005 08:45:49 von hormuzd irani

i have compiled openssl 0.9.7 library in my pc on win98se.

i tried running binaries mysqd version 4.1.12 (and mysqld-max as adviced
from agray@iconsinc.com).

when i run command : show variables like 'have_openssl' i get
value=no

i downloaded source file : mysql-4.1.12a-win-src.zip and uncompressed it

the uncompressed set doesnot have a file : configure

the manual says to before compiling run : ./configure --with-vio --with-ssl

i still went ahead and compiled under vc++6 indicating to the compiler the 2
opensll libraries.

the command : show variables like 'have_openssl' still indicates value=no

the linux shell script: prepare which came in the root directory of the
source uncompressed doesnot work even when run under linux as : bash
prepare, it leads to lots of files not found error while creating links.

do you have to copy the opensll's .lib, .exp, .dll to any windows system
directory?

what am i doing wrong?

or is it that mysqld doesnot have ssl support under win32?
