Hi,
When I click on a link in a received email message in Thunderbird, it
brings up Internet Explorer, even though my default browser is Firefox.
Anyone any idea how to change this?

I think you need to change setting in IE as well - open
IE->tools->internet options->programs tab, and make sure t'bird is
selected in the drop down box for email and newsgroups there. From
memory that worked for me.
