IIS worker process encountered a problem and needed to close

IIS worker process encountered a problem and needed to close

Hi, we use a software called Promail off of our Windows 2003 server were user
enter orders to be shipped via a web browser. Yesterday we rebooted the
server because a user was getting a "404" error and got the error, "IIS
Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close". In the Details,
it specifies w3wp.exe. There is also a separate error in the System event
log that says "The instruction at "0x38734bf9" referenced memory at
"0x38734bf9. The memory could not be "read".

We recently installed SP1. Could SP1 be the problem? I did a search for
w3wp.exe and it is located in the I386 folder and the SP1 files so I’m
suspicious.

Did you only get this error once? Can you post the entire error from the
system event log here so we can review it? Is your application still
working?

Thank you,

I've been getting the pop up error every couple of days. The pop up title
says

"GDI+ Window: w3wp.exe - Application Error"
The error says " The instruction at "0x38734bf9 referenced memory at
"0x38734bf9". The memory could not be "read". "

Source: Application Error
Catagorey (100)
Event ID: 1000

This is the IIS worker process from what I understand.
