DMS Phone Switch and garbage characters

Hi All,

I'm retrieving data from the buffer of a DMS Switch. When it prints
to the screen in Unix it looks fine. But if I save the data to a file
it adds extra characters. Is there anyway to prevent these characters
from being included or otherwise strip them out.
