spamassassin whitelisting

Hi, I'm trying to get whitelisting working for individual users.
For domains whitelisting works fine like below:

whitelist_from_rcvd *.abcnews.go.com *@abcnews.go.com

For individuals neither of following works:

whitelist_from me@somewhere.com
whitelist_from_rcvd me@somewhere.com

How can I do this? I haven't found any good examples.

I needed to add --siteconfigpath to my spamd startup.
