Hi,
I've got a problem with MySQL on win xp. After installation, the program can't start the service. When trying run service manually it shows the message Error 1067 process stoped unexpectedly (or sth like that - i've got polish windows). Please help.

Check the service, check what is the config file it points to, check
if the file exists, if it does, some configuration on it may be
wrong... Get the my.cnf that comes with mysql and use it instead, it
should work.
Anyway, its probably one of these:
1) another service using port 3306
2) an old mysql service still there
3) a problem with the config file (can't find it, wrong options on it, etc)

Seems there is something wrong with your my.ini file. You must e.g. check
that the paths in the my.ini correspond to your installation directory.
If you start the MySQL service from the command line (from the service
window, you can see which .exe is called when starting the service), you
should get a better error description.

Hi,
I see you're running WinXP. Are you sure that the built-in firewall in
WinXP has the right settings for mysql to operate?, I mean is mysql allowed
by your firewall.
I once had the same error 1067 on Win2k because ZoneAlarm blocked mysql.
