How do I get return the computer name from MySQL?

I need to know if it is possible for a client (VS.NET) that has an open
and valid connection to a MySQL database on a server, to return its
client name? For example, if my server is hiserv.myserver and my client
is l3bpa_cen.logicnet.local; how do I get the logicnet.local from the
server?

Can I find these details in show variables or something?
