Format problem

Hi!!

Recently I downloaded mysql 4.20a version. I m using vb6.0 on windows 98 machine... to develop my apps... i found that...the commands which I used in my query for eg: Select Code, Format(Totals,2) as Total from TableName results in ?????? marks in the total column in listview...I mean the command Format(total,2) in listview shows as ????? marks... how can I solve it... and the same is true with crystal report 9.0 developer edtion... it gives a junck characters... if the fields having format command it taken through a ttx file... it shows up a junck character in the report.

how can I solve this kinldy suggest..

Hi Philip,

I don't know if some one has replied to this, but I see nothing on the
list so I have a suggestion: Run the same query in a raw MySQL client -
like the one called mysql.exe which can be found in the 'bin'
sub-directory where you installed MySQL. If you see question marks here
then create a cut-down database that exposes the behaviour and send it
to that to the bugs list. It might also be worth a quick scan through
the manual to see if Format is infact meant to return question marks in
some cases????
