oscommerce, myphpadmin config file help needed.

Hi Guys

I'm busy installing oscommerce onto 1and1, I got the database set up but
need to make a few alterations.

I'm following this instruction at the moment

STEP 3:Go into your server's backend and use a SQL tool such as
PHPMYADMIN to run the following SQL scripts. Make sure you have backed
up your database first:

Now I've installed phpmyadmin but need a bit of guidance with the
config.inc.php file, I don't know where to put the database name,
username and password.

I'm opening the php files for editing in notepad, is this a good idea or
is there a better program.

Any help would be appreciated.
