Upgrade from 4.0.17 to 5

Dear Sir ,

I need help , there was an error occured in VBScript when I Installed the MySQL 5 , but if I downgrade back to old version 4.0.17 the program run correctly.

The Error message is like this :

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Is any body know abou this , Please advise. Is the error because VBScript or from MySql ? Thanks.

The problem is with neither, most likely. The problem is with the change
of password hashing that occurred in v 4.1 If you don't downgrade the
password hash on the server or upgrade your connection library to use the
new hashing scheme you won't be able to connect.

Thanks for reply , i already did changed the password into OLD_PASSWORD. but it's still error occur.

Btw , if I go back to old mysql (WinMySQL as Server / Client ) it's working properly. pls advise. Thanks.

Check the MySQL manual for upgrade guide, its a long operation that
I've performed a lot here at work, you must notice that there were
major changes from 4.0 to 4.1 and then again to 5.0, so, check for
imcompability and follow the instructions there to upgrade and come
back if anything wrong happens.
