Thanks Richard AB for your advice.
The problem was not the execution path, as I had set that via a batch =
file.
When I tried executing 'mysql -u root' (without the quotes) the system =
responded by outputting a list of parameters for the mysql command. I =
tried several times with same result.
So, I removed everything yet again and reinstalled.
In my previous attempts I had disabled the use of security in the Config =
Wizard, as I am the only user on the PC and therefore do not need any =
security.
This time I left security on and entered abcd in the password edit =
controls in this part of the dialog.
I then proceeded to the last step and pressed the Execute button. As =
result the first three items got ticks, but not the last security item.
Also, somewhere towards the end of the Config Wizard I requested the =
path to be=20
added to autoexec.
When I entered mysql -u root. it started. Hurrah!
Patrice, I hope this works for you too.
Ken
