Basic gcc diffrences

Dear All,

I have a question regarding the bacis of gcc ftp site not mentioned there.
ftp://linuxforum.net/ftp.gcc.gnu.org/releases/gcc-3.3.3/

There are many downloadables with different naming conventions.

how does the gcc-3.3.3.tar.bz2 core differ the gcc-core-3.3.3.tar.bz2.
What one of these is the default compiler that comes with Fedora or any other distributions?
