Geminisoft Pimmy 4.0 makes its debut during Torino Olympic Games!

We are very happy to announce that final Pimmy 4.0 has been released and it
is available on our web site www.geminisoft.com.

Pimmy 4.0 is available in 2 editions (setup and portable), initially in 2
languages (Italian and English) and can be installed over beta version and
Pimmy 3.5. On this topic please carefully read installation notes.

To let people upgrade more easily Pimmy 4.0 includes a license which allows
users to run Pimmy until March 31 2006. Before that day who is interested
should buy an individual license. This facility is only for who download
Pimmy since Febrary 28 2006; starting from March 1 2006 the license will
allow users to try Pimmy for 30 days but with some limitations: 2
mailboxes, 5 newsgroups, 5 RSS channels and 10 folders.

The following are some of the many new features of Pimmy 4.0 compared to

- RSS / ATOM channels support for news reading and blogs.
- Individual read / unread messages management either online and offline.
- Faster folders management.
- Full message cache for an optimal management either online and offline.
- IMAP4 protocol support.
- Improved accessibility for visually impared people.
- Newsgroup management using Messge-ID with the possibility of changing
newsgroup provider without downloading all messages.
- Full revision of character encoding (charset) management either in
displaying and editing with warnings and suggestions.
- Message labels which can be applied manually or using filter.
- Messages import from Outlook Express, Thunderbird and other mail
programs.
- New commands to retrieve a newsgroup message from the server using
Message-ID, to retrieve replies, the full thread, etc.
- Followup-To management.
- ROT13 encoding / decoding to hide in a simple way (but not secure) a part
of text (the end of a movie for instance).
- Encoding / decoding with password of message text.
- Improvements on quoting of replies, signature removing and text
formatting.
- Filters improvements with new rules, new actions and the possibility to
apply filters to folders.

As disclosed in the last months, final price has been fixed to 19,95$ (*).
The license includes:

- perpetual right to use Pimmy 4.0 without any limitation
- 6-month technical support on the product by e-mail
- free upgrade to minor release (with error corrections and maybe a few
small new features)
- discounts to upgrade to major release (with new and important features)
